San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States. With a big city, comes even bigger challenges. Learn from Vision Zero San Antonio on the innovative solutions they have implemented to achieve the goal zero roadway fatalities. The second half of the session will be a Q&A discussion format where participants can discuss the methodology that Vision Zero SA uses to address their dangerous streets or share what their city initiatives are currently doing.
Marco Hinojosa is a Senior Transportation Planner for the City of San Antonio’s Transportation & Capital Improvements Department. His responsibilities include reviewing the city’s major thoroughfare plan, implementing the policies outlined in the SA Tomorrow Multi-Modal Plan, and analyzing crashes from all modes around the city. He also works with the Vision Zero initiative to develop solutions on San Antonio roads with the highest concentration of severe pedestrian crashes, specifically those in low-income, minority communities. Marco has a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Greg Reininger currently works as a Principal Transportation Planner for the City of San Antonio’s Transportation & Capital Improvements Department where he has been since 2014. He leads the City’s Vision Zero safety initiative, Major Thoroughfare Plan, and long-range transportation planning and coordination. Greg represents the City on several committees and is heavily involved with community outreach. Greg obtained his bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and his master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
