Participants will embark on a tour of the UNESCO Spanish Mission, utilizing the Mission Reach Ecological Restoration and Recreation Project’s trail system. There will be an opportunity to visit 4 of the 5 Spanish Missions. The Missions are UNESCO world heritage sites. The only ones in Texas. Participants will be using electrically assisted bicycles to go from mission to mission. The setting will be the beautiful San Antonio River. There will be opportunities to observe native plants and wildlife, that have been brought back by the ecological restoration.
Michael Gramley: I have been working for San Antonio River Authority for the since early 2017. My first position was as the Park Program Coordinator. I am currently the Recreation Superintendent for the authority. Before starting my career in recreation, I was a marine biologist, working in public aquariums and for the state of Georgia. I helped open the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. I am a proud member of Canoe Trail Goliad and the Alamo Area Master Naturalists. My hobbies are motorcycles, hunting, fishing, surfing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, snowboarding and my dogs.
